You’re My (Lilly Pulitzer) Home Slice

Hey y’all-hope your week is off to a great start! Last week I had a shoot with Amelia Cassar Photography at The Parlour in downtown Durham. Today I am excited to share them with you because they feature my new Lilly Pulitzer Home Slice printed top. Hopefully they will provide y’all with some styling inspiration.

I Have This Thing with Pineapples

So I know I’ve mentioned before that I am trying to be more intentional with my shopping. My closet is getting very full, and I’m trying to spend less money on things so I will have more for experiences. Also very few of the Lilly Pulitzer releases of the past couple years caught my eye, due to both design and quality. Therefore, I was super content simply wearing the Lilly I already owned. However, Lilly Pulitzer really outdid themselves with their Spring 2018 collection. The prints are amazing, and the design has more of the classic Lilly aesthetic. I especially took a liking to the Lilly Pulitzer Home Slice print, because it has pineapples and a bright pink & green color scheme. If you’ve been following my blog, then you know I have this thing with fruit motifs. Pineapples are one of my favorites, because they symbolize Southern Hospitality and thus inspired the name for my blog. So I couldn’t resist adding this Lilly Pulitzer Etta top in the Home Slice to my closet. Bonus-it’s one of the most affordable clothing items currently available from Lilly Pulitzer. I had a coupon for The Pink Pearl, an independently owned local Lilly boutique, so I saved even more! Whenever possible, I like to support the local small business Lilly stores.

A Dash of Denim

I styled my Lilly Pulitzer Home Slice Etta top with these rolled cuff denim shorts I bought from Lauren James last summer. Unfortunately, they are no longer available, but both Gap and Levi’s currently have some similar options. I really like the way this flowy top complements the fit of the denim shorts.

Tory Burch Sunglasses

The Tory Burch Millers are my favorite sandal for spring & summer. I know I’ve probably mentioned this before, but I would own every color if I could! In previous posts I have shared my tan Tory Burch Millers. I have them in gold as well, and wore my gold ones for this shoot. They are seriously worth the investment. I’ve had my gold Millers for almost three years and they are still in excellent condition! You may remember the Tory Burch sunnies I shared in this earlier post. I made sure to get a closer up shot of the arm detail this time. These were actually a Saks Off Fifth purchase about five years ago. Highly recommend stores like this for snagging designer sunnies at great savings. Here’s a similar pair of Tory Burch sunglasses I love.

Some Familiar Favorites

If you’ve been following my blog or Instagram for a bit, you know that Sheila Fajl hoops and the Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant are two of my favorite pieces of jewelry. I love them for their versatility. I’m actually wearing my rose gold Sheila hoops in these photos. They honestly make just as many appearances in my outfit ensembles as my yellow gold ones!

The Parlour

One thing I enjoy doing here on the blog is highlighting some of my favorite local places in the Raleigh/Durham area. As much as I love to travel to Disney World, the beach, and Clemson, I’m also a firm believer in the “love where you live” motto. Confession-my photo shoot last week was the first  time I had been to The Parlour in downtown Durham. My friends rave about it and I love ice cream, so it had been on my Durham bucket list for awhile. I’m glad I can now cross it off my list. The atmosphere inside is super adorable, and the ice cream is delicious. I enjoyed Cookies & Cream, which is my go-to flavor. They also have the the old-fashioned glass Coke bottles, which are super fun. I don’t typically drink regular Coca-Cola, but I made an exception last week for the fun glass bottle. I will definitely be making a return trip soon!

Here’s a quick summary with links of all the items in this look. I’ve included links to similar items if the actual product is currently unavailable.

Top: Lilly Pulitzer  //  Shorts: Lauren James (similar)  //   Earrings: Sheila Fajl
Necklace: Kendra Scott  //  Bracelet: Bourbon & Boweties  //  Watch: Kate Spade (similar)
Bag: Kate Spade (similar)  //  Sunnies: Tory Burch (similar)  //  Shoes: Tory Burch

Overall, the Lilly Pulitzer Etta top in Home Slice is a welcome addition to my closet this season. These days I have to really love a piece to justify making a purchase, and this definitely makes the cut. I will be wearing it a lot this spring and summer. Fun fact-the Lilly Pulitzer Home Slice print was actually inspired by the Lilly for Pottery Barn collaboration. One of the towels I bought from that collection actually features the Home Slice print in a different color scheme.

Also, huge shoutout to Amelia Cassar Photography for capturing all the photos in this post. Raleigh/Durham people-if you need a photographer, I highly recommend her. She has such a gift for encouraging and empowering when you are in front of her lens, which makes for amazing photos. In addition to being a talented photographer, she is an overall awesome friend and person!

What is your favorite print from the most recent Lilly Pulitzer seasons? Also, what is your favorite local ice cream place? I’d love to hear, so please comment below!
