Happy Monday, and hope y’all had a great weekend! Summertime means wedding season is in full swing. You may find yourself wondering what to wear to a wedding, especially if you have multiple to attend! Of course it’s a given not to wear white, but aside from that there’s a lot of variety in what you can wear. Today I’m going to help y’all out by sharing what I wore to my cousin’s wedding recently, in hopes of providing some inspiration for your own wedding guest attire this summer.

Lauren James Harper Dress
If you’ve been following my blog and Instagram for awhile, then you know I am super obsessed with the Lauren James Harper Dress. In fact, I have it in four different colors! One big reason I adore the Harper Dress is its versatility. The simple silhouette is conducive to lots of different accessory options. (Check out this post to see multiple looks with the same dress.) And depending on the accessories and shoes you pair it with, the Harper Dress is suitable for a variety of occasions, including a summer wedding.
Cocktail or Casual
I wore my seafoam seersucker Lauren James Harper to my cousin’s wedding a couple weekends ago. It was a 5:30 wedding, and the invitation said “cocktail attire.” Now, this dress would be too casual for a black-tie or white-tie wedding. But paired with nude patent peep-toe heels and simple but elegant Kendra Scott jewelry, it is perfect for a cocktail attire summer wedding. I also carried my pink seersucker Lilly Pulitzer clutch with a gold chain strap. This was actually a Clothes Mentor find several months ago! It was a great size for holding all my essentials: phone, lipstick, ID, digital camera, blotting sheets, lip balm, and blush.
The Harper dress comes in classic striped seersucker as well, but I really like the solid seersucker because I feel like it’s a bit dressier. However, you would not be overdressed if you wore the solid seersucker Harper to a more casual wedding. Simply pair it with flats or sandals, and some more playful accessories.

(Kendra Scott jewelry is the perfect complement to this wedding guest look. The Elle drop earrings are simple but glamorous, and the Elisa pendant is dainty and elegant.)

Hope that you enjoyed this post and that it provided you with some styling inspiration if you’re wondering what to wear to a wedding this summer. I can’t say enough good things about the Lauren James Harper Dress. This is actually the second time I’ve worn this exact dress to a wedding. Are you going to any weddings in the next couple months, and have you decided what you’re wearing? Do you have any go-to outfits for wedding guest attire? Let me know in the comments!
Side note-both the ceremony and reception were at The Lofts at Union Square in downtown High Point, NC. It was such a gorgeous venue. If you’re a bride-to-be looking for reception venues in the North Carolina Triad, I would definitely check it out!
