I’m continuing catching up on very overdue monthly favorites posts from the second half of 2022. Next up is my September 2022 favorites! September is a unique month in the sense that it begins feeling very much like summer, and then ends with fall in the air! Hence, my September 2022 favorites reflect a little of both seasons.

Labor Day Weekend at the Beach
One highlight of every September is spending Labor Day Weekend at the beach, and September 2022 was no exception. I always love spending the unofficial final weekend of summer soaking up some good beach time. In addition, Labor Day weekend marks the beginning of college football season, and there are usually games on to enjoy every night after spending the day on the beach.
Frozen at DPAC
Frozen the Broadway musical came to the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) in September 2022, and my parents gave me their tickets, so I took a good friend with me. It was excellent! If you like the movie Frozen, you will love the musical! I feel like the musical followed the plot line for the movie pretty closely, but there was something extra mesmerizing about seeing the special effects live on stage. The effects in “Let It Go” were particularly exceptional! The singing was amazing as well! This was actually the first time I’ve seen a Disney Broadway musical.
Lilly Pulitzer G’Day Mate Blouse
After not buying anything for two consecutive Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sales (September 2021 and January 2022), I resumed Lilly sale shopping with the September 2022 Sunshine Sale. One of the items I purchased was the Sherida Blouse in the Navy G’Day Mate print, which features adorable koalas. (I actually bought the pajama pants in the purple version of this print back in December 2021.)
When I first started wearing Lilly Pulitzer in 2010, they had a true “Fall” line, which had more muted prints. A couple of the items I bought during my early Lilly era were long-sleeved blouses from the fall line. The Sherida Blouse in Navy G’Day Mate reminds me of those blouses (which I still own, by the way!). By no means do I believe that one can’t wear bright colors during the fall and winter. But with respect to bright Lilly prints, I prefer to wear them as a pop of print via a scarf or other accessory during the cooler months, as opposed to all over a dress or top. The navy G’Day Mate Lilly Pulitzer print is perfect for a top to wear during fall and winter. I love the ruffle detail at the neck and the sleeve cuffs as well. In addition, it’s always fun to get an item during the September Lilly Sale that I can wear immediately, as opposed to a spring/summer item I have to wait months to wear!
Lilly Pulitzer Luxletic Maryana Skort in Pear Necessities
My obsession with Lilly Pulitzer Luxletic skorts began when I purchased one during the September 2019 Lilly sale, and I have added several more to my collection since then. As much as I love the Luxletic skorts, I can’t justify paying full price for them. So they are one of my go-to Lilly Pulitzer items to search for during sales. If there’s a print I like at significant savings, I usually add it to my cart! During the September 2022 Lilly Pulitzer Sunshine Sale, I got the Maryana Skort in Resort White Pear Necessities. Lilly prints with a fruit motif are among my favorite. And I love that this style skort has pockets!
Target Favorite Day Fall Trail Mix Flavors
I’m a sucker for Target’s Favorite Day brand trail mixes, especially the limited edition seasonal flavors. In September 2022 I discovered two Favorite Day fall trail mix flavors I absolutely love: Scarecrow Crunch and Caramel. The Scarecrow Crunch has peanuts, Reese’s pieces, milk chocolate covered cereal squares, white chocolate oat cereal, and milk chocolate marshmallow bits. The Caramel trail mix has caramel-flavored coated pretzel balls, butter toffee peanuts, caramel-flavored candy cups, white chocolate caramel-flavored chips, and chocolate chunks. I enjoyed both of these trail mixes during the fall, and even bought a few extra bags to stash in my pantry to randomly enjoy while it’s out of season. I really hope Target brings back both of these varieties for Fall 2023!
Vera Bradley Disney Print: Mickey & Minnie’s Sweet Floral
Vera Bradley launched new Disney prints in September 2022, and my favorite from this release was Mickey & Minnie’s Sweet Floral. I love the adorable images of Mickey & Minnie together, and also all the purple in this print. When paired with orange, it gives me all the Clemson vibes. I bought the Deluxe Lunch Bunch Bag and the Small Vera Tote in Mickey & Minnie’s Sweet Floral. I have the Vera Bradley Deluxe Lunch Bunch Bag in another Disney print, and I really like that it’s a little bit bigger than your standard lunch bag. Plus the mesh pocket on the side for a water bottle is really convenient. Then the Small Vera Tote is the perfect size for an everyday handbag, and the multiple pockets inside help organize the contents of your bag.
Trader Joe’s Mini Chocolate Chip Cookies
I first saw these snack size bags of Trader Joe’s mini chocolate chip cookies on the @traderjoesobsessed Instagram account. I was excited to find them at my local store and get to try them in September 2022. They are so good, and I have kept picking up these little bags of mini cookies on subsequent trips. I like to eat a couple at a time if I need a fix for my sweet tooth. On my most recent Trader Joe’s trip, these were nowhere to be found, and I really hope it’s merely a temporary out of stock situation!
Trader Joe’s Elote Corn Chip Dippers
I have to include another delicious Trader Joe’s snack in this installment of my monthly favorites. Someone I know personally shared the Trader Joe’s Elote Corn Dippers on Instagram, so I picked up a bag on a Trader Joe’s run. Although these are marketed as “Dippers,” the Elote corn seasoning on them is so abundant I eat them sans dip!
Lands’ End Bikini Tops
I loved the Draper James x Land’s End bikini tops I got in early summer 2022 so much that I ordered a few new prints during a Lands’ End sale in September. These are regular Lands End tops and not part of the Draper James collab, but they are the exact same style as my bikini tops from the Draper James collab. I got three different prints- a navy with White polka dots, red with stars, and a colorful tropical print! I was able to wear the red top a few times when there were some warm pool days this past fall. And I am looking forward to getting lots of wear out of them in Summer 2023! This red one gives such patriotic vibes and will be what I wear on the beach for the 4th of July this summer!
UNC Football Game
Another highlight of September 2022 was going to a UNC football game. Although UNC lost, I got a picture with Rameses Jr. In addition, our tailgate had the cutest individual seven-layer Mexican dips in little mason jars.
Born to Shine by Kendra Scott
When I saw that Kendra Scott was releasing a memoir in September 2022, I had to get it! I haven’t had a chance to read Born to Shine: Do Good, Find Your Joy, and Build a Life You Love, but it’s on my TBR (to be read) list for 2023! Also, the cover is absolutely gorgeous. Lately I tend to buy the Kindle version when I purchase books, since it’s typically less expensive and it saves bookshelf space. But since Born to Shine is so pretty, I had to buy the hardcover version.
Thanks for reading my very belated September 2022 Favorites post! I hope to have the rest of my 2022 monthly favorites posts up soon!
