Preppy 4th of July Style Inspiration

Hey y’all-hope your week is going well! I’m a little late getting this week’s blog post up, since I was preoccupied with the Beautycounter Friends & Family Sale earlier this week. Anyways, it’s hard to believe that there’s less than a week left of June. This means the 4th of July is right around the corner. Although the Fourth may look different this year with many big fireworks displays and events  cancelled, it’s still a great excuse to put on a patriotic outfit and eat good food! So, today I’m sharing some preppy 4th of July style inspiration. Keep reading for some items I’ve rounded up that would be perfect to incorporate into a preppy red, white, & blue outfit!

Preppy Red, White, & Blue Dresses

Preppy 4th of July Dresses

1.Gap Striped Sleeveless Swing Dress
2. Draper James Strappy Bow Front Dress
3. Crown & Ivy Sleeveless Smocked Embroidered Dress
4. Gap Sleeveless Halterneck Dress

Both of the striped Gap dresses are under $50, and are such great casual preppy staples. The Crown & Ivy Dress is blue seersucker with embroidered lobsters, and is currently on sale for less than $50. The Draper James dress is a bit of a splurge, but it’s darling so I still had to include!

Patriotic Tops

1. Draper James Flutter Eyelet Top (also comes in blue)
2. J.Crew Striped Longline Layering Tank
3. Draper James Tie-Back Tee (also comes in red)
4. Crown & Ivy Sleeveless Ruffle Neck Tank
5. J.Crew Ruffle Front Tank in Satin Crepe

Although Draper James tends to be on the pricier side, both style tops I feature here are under $50. And I just love the eyelet and tie-back details. J.Crew is currently offering an additional 40-60% off select styles, including the two tops pictured above, through June 25 with code SALEAWAY. Crown & Ivy is a house brand exclusive to Belk, and they offer more affordable alternatives to preppy brands like Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines. In addition to reasonable retail prices, Belk frequently has Crown & Ivy on sale too.

4th of July Skirts & Skorts

Preppy 4th of July Outfit Ideas

1. J.Crew Chino Shorts in Navy
2. Crown & Ivy Scalloped Hem Shorts
3. Lilly Pulitzer Monica Luxletic Skort
4. Lilly Pulitzer Patty Skort
5. Crown & Ivy Gingham Skort
6. J.Crew White Chino Shorts

J.Crew Chino Shorts are a preppy closet staple, and even at full price they are pretty reasonable! I think the tie adds such a fun touch to the Crown & Ivy skort, and you can’t go wrong with gingham! The scalloped hem on the Crown & Ivy shorts adds an extra touch to plain white shorts. While the Lilly Pulitzer skorts are on the pricier side, I still had to include them, because I love Lilly skorts, especially Luxletic. And the classic navy with white trim is timeless!

Red, White, & Blue Accessories & Shoes

1. Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant in Ruby Red
2. Jack Rogers Jellies
3. Kendra Scott Ellie Studs
4. J.Crew Terry Scrunchie (also comes in satin)
5. J.Crew Turban Headband
6. Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant in Cobalt Cat’s Eye

These accessories will go with any preppy 4th of July outfit you choose. Kendra Scott jewelry is a classic staple, and you can choose red, white, or blue stones for a patriotic touch. If your outfit is mostly white or blue, the J.Crew scrunchies or headbands will give a great splash of red. Also, the scrunchies are 60% off through June 25 with code SALEAWAY. I have Jack Rogers jellies in two different colors, and they are nice because you can easily wipe them clean and don’t have to worry about messing up nice leather sandals.
