Orange is the New Pink

“Whoever said orange is the new pink was seriously disturbed.” -Elle Woods

So Elle Woods from Legally Blonde may be one of my favorite fictional characters, but I must disagree with the sentiment she expressed above when describing how she talked Cameron Diaz or Beyonce (depending on if you’re watching the movie or musical version) out of buying an orange sweater. Pink has always been my favorite color, but my closet contains just as much orange these days–largely due to me being a HUGE Clemson fan. (Go Tigers!)

One of my favorite “go-to” pieces is an orange cotton slub Lilly Pulitzer dress. I bought this on sale four and a half years ago and it has held up wonderfully. This past weekend I had my bestie in town, and I styled this orange dress with a lightweight Lilly Pulitzer scarf for church and lunch on Sunday. Seventy-degree weather in February (which we’ve had for a lot of the past week) is a welcome treat, but can make getting dressed v. tricky. I feel like this ensemble made for a great transitional outfit:

This scarf print is called “Chin Chin.” It’s one of my all-time favorite Lilly prints, and this blue color way is a bit different from the other items that were released in this print back in Spring 2013.

It was nice to be able to go bare-legged! I completed this look with tan Tory Burch Reva Flats (not pictured).

How I feel about trying to get dressed when it’s 70 degrees but the start of seersucker season is over a month away!

How do y’all dress during transitional seasons? Also, how do y’all feel about the color orange?
