October 2020 Favorites

Hey y’all-does anyone else feel like October lasted about two days? It’s hard to believe we only have two months left in this crazy year called 2020! And Thanksgiving is only three and a half weeks away. I personally wait until right after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas, and I’m using the next few weeks to continue to soak up fall. And as we move into a new month, it’s time for me to recap my favorites from the previous month. Here are my October 2020 Favorites!

Lilly Pulitzer Paws for Cause Pajama Pants

I wrote this blog post about the 2020 Lilly Pulitzer Breast Cancer Awareness print a couple weeks ago. But since my Lilly Pulitzer Paws for Cause pajama pants are one of my favorite things from October 2020, I have to mention them again here. They’re so soft and cozy, and a great addition to my pajamas and loungewear wardrobe. I love that the Paws for Cause print includes leopards. These pajama pants are already sold out in multiple sizes, so I doubt they will make it to the After Party Sale. If your size is still available, I recommend grabbing a pair ASAP!

Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Cups

These Mickey & Minnie ice cream cups came out back in the summer, but I wasn’t able to get my hands on them through grocery delivery until this month. The box features a cute vintage Mickey & Minnie design. Ten single-serving cups are inside: five chocolate and five vanilla. The cups also have Mickey & Minnie on them. Bonus-the ice cream is low fat, but still delicious. These single-serving cups would be a great way to serve ice cream at a socially distanced gathering.

Clemson Vera Bradley Duffel Bag

I got my first pieces of Vera Bradley when I graduated from high school 17 years ago, but have really gotten into their newer stuff after I collaborated with Vera Bradley a few months ago to promote their Disney collection. Ever since I discovered that Vera Bradley has a collegiate line, I put this Clemson Vera Bradley duffel bag on my wish list. When Vera Bradley had a 25% off site-wide sale in early October, I decided it was time to make it mine. It’s especially nice that Vera Bradley included the collegiate collection in their sales, because most of their specialty collections (like Disney and Harry Potter) aren’t included.

Vera Bradley Duffel Bag Collegiate Collection

My new Clemson Vera Bradley duffel bag is slightly bigger and has more pockets for organization than the Vera duffel bag I got for high school graduation. This duffel bag features exterior slip pockets on each end. There’s an additional exterior slip pocket, as well as a zippered compartment on the side with the Clemson logo. Then there are six interior mesh pockets. In contrast, my older Vera Bradley duffel bag only has one exterior slip pocket in addition to the main compartment. Hopefully I will be able to take this duffel bag to a Clemson game weekend next fall. In the meantime, I look forward to packing it for a fall beach weekend this month, as well as the upcoming holidays.

You can view all the schools available in the Vera Bradley collegiate collection here.

Vera Bradley Fruit Grove Pattern

When I bought my Clemson duffel bag during the Vera Bradley sale, I also grabbed a couple other items. I really like this Fruit Grove pattern, so I grabbed a couple inexpensive items that would be practical. This Travel Takes Case will be great for holding miscellaneous items when I travel. I’m thinking that I will use it for jewelry and charger cords.

I also got this Mini Dome Cosmetic Case. It’s really small, but it’s the perfect size for holding a lipstick, lip balm, and hair ties in your bag. I’m actually using mine to stow miscellaneous gift cards. This would make a great gift for under $25 this holiday season as well.

Primally Pure Autumn Room Spray

Primally Pure, one of my favorite clean beauty companies, launched a home collection this fall. I tried their Autumn Room Spray out this month! It smells like cider to me. Even though there’s only a few weeks left of fall before Christmas comes out in full force in my world, I still feel like this spray will be great for the holidays. It’s definitely pricey for a room spray, but I using it as a special treat for my apartment, as opposed to spraying liberally everywhere, every single day! The good news is you can save 10% off your first Primally Pure order with code LS10.

Beautycounter Holiday Collection

Beautycounter launched their 2020 Holiday Collection this month. I received my special consultant pre-sale bundle the last week of September, but I wasn’t allowed to officially share it until October. Getting to play with all the fun limited edition gift sets and sharing them with others is the best part of being a Beautycounter consultant. And I think this year’s Beautycounter Holiday Collection is even better than last year’s. You will find clean skincare gifts sets, clean makeup gift sets, and clean self care gift sets to treat yourself and/or gift to others this season. To learn more about all the different Beautycounter holiday sets (plus some additional clean beauty gift recommendations), check out this post.

Vintage Disney World Cup

My parents did some cleaning out and purging at their house last month, and brought me a random assortment of things from there to go through. I ended up recycling or donating most of it, but there were definitely some gems worth hanging on to, particularly this vintage Disney World cup. It appears to be from Epcot during one of our late 80’s or early 90’s family Disney trips. There’s Mickey & Minnie dressed in astronaut outfits with Figment on one side to represent Future World. Then on the side there’s Goofy, Donald, and Daisy dressed in different countries’ outfits to represent World Showcase. it looks like this was a souvenir cup that they served a fountain drink in at the parks.

Draper James Sale Items

Draper James had a Sale on Sale promo in October, where already reduced sale items were an extra 40% off. I got a plaid sleep shirt which will be a perfect nightgown for the upcoming winter months, particularly during the holidays. I also got a sleeveless navy eyelet top with ruffle detail at the arm holes. This will go so well with my Lilly Pulitzer shorts and skorts next spring and summer. Here’s to hoping that the pandemic is more under control by then so that I have more places to go out and wear cute outfits! The eyelet top is still available in a large at time of publishing this post. You can view all Draper James sale items here.

Target Yogurt Covered Raisins

I’ve loved yogurt covered raisins for a long time, and have fond memories of going to the Fresh Market with my grandmother to get some from the bulk snack section. Target’s Great Value brand recently came out with these new Greek Yogurt Covered raisins, and they are probably the best pre-packaged yogurt covered raisins I’ve had. Highly recommend!
