Hey y’all and Happy Halloween! Seriously, where did October go? This whole year is flying by! October especially felt like a blur since I had so much going on, both at work and in my personal life. Anyways, the end of another month means it’s time to continue the tradition of sharing some things from the past month that I’m loving. Here we go!

Kendra Scott Elaina Bracelet
I bought this bracelet at the Shop for Good event that my blogger friend My Cancer Chic hosted at the Kendra Scott in Raleigh earlier this month. (You can read more about the event and Kendra Scott’s commitment to philanthropy here.) I’m pretty sure I’ve worn it about every day since I bought it early three weeks ago. Thanks to the ivory mother of pearl stone and delicate gold chain, it literally goes with everything. The Kendra Scott Elaina bracelet is the perfect piece to throw on when you’re getting ready in the morning. I love having pieces of jewelry you can grab in a hurry and not have to worry about whether they match your outfit. Also, the Elaina bracelet has an adjustable slider. making it super easy to get on and off. It’s also perfect if you have narrow wrists like me. I highly recommend adding it to your jewelry collection, and you can shop it here. PS. Kendra Scott will send you a 15% off coupon if you sign up for their email list.
Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude Scarf
The Lilly scarf with a pink cat print pictured in the photo above is another one of my favorite closet additions from the past month. I already featured this scarf in a post earlier this month, so you can check it out here to see additional pictures and learn more about how this beautiful print benefits breast cancer awareness.
Kate Spade Initial Thermal Mug
I am absolutely loving this Kate Spade initial thermal mug that I bought during their Friends & Family sale this month. Kate Spade has redesigned the lid of their thermal mugs so that they are easier to clean. The cover for the opening flips up instead of sliding, so gunk is less likely to get stuck. Plus us Southern girls have a hard time turning down anything with an initial or monogram. The “L” mug happens to have a mint green lid and dark green letter, which is really pretty. The color of your mug might be different, depending on the letter your name begins with. You can shop this mug here, and it would make an excellent Christmas gift for any preppy coffee lover on your list!
Getting Accepted into rewardStyle
One of the highlights of my October was getting into rewardStyle, a premier affiliate program for fashion and lifestyle bloggers. It felt so good to accomplish this goal I’ve had basically ever since I started this blog in February. You can read more here about rewardStyle and what my journey to achieve this goal taught me about perseverance.
A huge perk of being part of the rewardStyle family is that I can now upload pictures of my outfits in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. I will do a more detailed tutorial soon, but basically when you follow me on LIKEtoKNOW.it, you can browse pictures of my outfits. Each picture has tagged products. When you click on a tagged product, it will take you directly to the retailer’s website, where you can complete your purchase. Shopping my looks via LIKEtoKNOW.it doesn’t cost you anything extra, and I earn a small commission on any purchase you make. Thanks for considering support Palmettos & Pineapples in this way!
North Carolina State Fair
I will have a full recap post coming soon, but going to the North Carolina State Fair was another highlight from October. A friend from my Bible Study Fellowship group and I spent an afternoon there and had the best time. The ice cream from Howling Cow Creamery at NC State is my favorite fair food. More to come on my fair adventures soon!
BSF Study of Joshua and Ruth
During October, my Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) class finished up a five-week study on the book of Joshua and did a one-week study on the book of Ruth. I have learned so much through these studies, so wanted to share a couple take home points with y’all. Our study on Joshua encouraged me to boldly go forth in faith what whatever God has called me to do, because He is a faithful God who always keeps His promises, and He will never leave or forsake me.
Rodan + Fields Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid
So I realize I don’t write a ton about beauty products on here. Because let’s be honest-my beauty routine is very simple and low maintenance. There’s nothing really groundbreaking about it. However, I am absolutely loving the newest product from Rodan+Fields, so I have to share with y’all. Rodan+Fields Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid is similar to a BB cream. You apply it after the final step in your morning skincare regimen. Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid provides SPF 30 and protection against environmental aggressors. It comes in six different shades, and thanks to the tint evens out skin tone with natural and lightweight coverage. In the words of Rodan+Fields, it “protects + perfects.” Prior to using Radiant Defense, I skipped foundation or BB cream. Although I’m happy with the way my makeup free skin looks, I do love the extra something that Rodan+Fields Radiant Defense gives me.
Disclaimer: I am a Rodan+Fields consultant because I love the products. I’ve been using them for almost four years and have been a consultant for almost two years. I’m just now sharing this eight months into Palmettos & Pineapples because I never want anyone to think that my motive for this blog is to push Rodan+Fields on my readers. That couldn’t be further from the truth! However, I am loving this new product too much not to let y’all know about it. That being said, if you want to try Radiant Defense Perfecting Liquid (or any other product) and don’t already have a Rodan+Fields consultant, I am more than happy to hook you up Just send me an email.
Getting a Clean Bill of Breast Health
Another highlight of my October was getting a clean bill of breast health. I am so thankful to the Lord and don’t take it for granted that my diagnostic mammogram and breast MRI both came back clear. In case you missed it, I wrote about this experience and shared why I’m having these screening tests done despite being only in my early 30’s. This post was one of the most popular ones I’ve ever written, and you can check it out here.
Hope that y’all enjoyed this post! I’d love to hear what you’re loving right now and what some of your highlights of the past month have been. Have a safe and fun Halloween as well. I wore my costume to my Bible Study Fellowship class last night, and I’m wearing it to work today. Other than that, I don’t have any plans other than to chill while watching Halloween movies and eating candy tonight. What are y’all up to?
Also, once November 1 hits, do you shift to “peppermint everything” or do you still have “pumpkin everything” for a few more weeks? As much as I love Christmas and all the festivities, I gotta continue the “pumpkin everything” mentality for most of November before switching gears. Traditionally, I wait until the day after Thanksgiving to start listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, eating Christmas goodies, and doing all the Christmas things. However, I plan to break down and start watching the Hallmark Christmas movies earlier in November this year. There’s no way I will be able to watch them all if I wait until December! Also, some Christmas gift shopping guides will be hitting the blog before Thanksgiving as well. So stay tuned for that and let me know if you have any requests for gift guides or holiday posts in general.
Thanks for reading y’all!
-xoxo Liz
PS. I love connecting with y’all on Instagram, so please come say hi if you aren’t already!
