March 2019 Favorites

Hey y’all-it’s hard to believe April is already here! Is it just me, or did March fly by? Anyways, today there’s no April-fooling on here, just a round up of my March 2019 favorites. If you’re new around here, I like to do a monthly post where I highlight some of my favorite things from the past month. My March 2019 Favorites definitely include fewer purchases I’ve made. This is because I’ve recently committed to sticking to a budget and saving more money each month. However, as much as I enjoy shopping, there is more to life than buying new things, and March definitely didn’t lack some fun memories and experiences. Here is what I’ve been loving this past month!

Scunci Mini Scrunchies

Mini scrunchies Target

Like it or not, scrunchies are back in style! I can’t quite get behind the big scrunchies that I remember from the 90s. But after reading about how scrunchies are gentler on your hair than other ponytail holders, I couldn’t resist picking this six-pack of mini scrunchies up at Target. I absolutely love them and do feel they don’t pull on my hair as much. And they are very subtle. Plus they fit around my ponytail three times perfectly. This was very refreshing, because I was having issues with other hair ties being too loose if I only looped them around my ponytail twice. But then when I tried to loop them around a third time my ponytail felt too tight. This is what I call the struggle of hair that’s not super thin, but not thick either. I have no such issues with these mini scrunchies. And they don’t slide around either! I highly recommend picking up a pack.

Kendra Scott Skye Blue Illusion

Although I’m doing less shopping these days, I couldn’t pass up my 50% off birthday month discount from Kendra Scott. I love her classic styles, so I went for the Elisa Pendant with a gold setting and the Skye Blue Illusion stone. The Skye Blue Illusion stone is part of the Spring 2019 collection. I actually had them custom make my Skye Blue Illusion Elisa at the Color Bar. Most of the Skye Blue Illusion pieces had a silver setting as the default, and I really wanted gold. So that’s why I did the Color Bar. You can customize your own Skye Blue Illusion Elisa at the online Color Bar here.

Blaze Pizza Pi Day

So I’m not a math nerd at all, and I honestly don’t care for dessert pie that much unless it’s chocolate chess. Therefore, I don’t get as excited about March 14 (3/14) being Pi (3.14) day as much as some people do. However, you best bet I take advantage of Blaze Pizza’s Pi Day special and get a custom wood-fired pizza for only $3.14. (They normally are around $8 or so.) The hour long line is still worth it, it fortunately Blaze isn’t that far away from me.

March Madness

March Madness Living Room Set Up

If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I have been extremely into March Madness basketball. Although I love the whole tournament, the first weekend of the tournament is my absolute favorite. Since there’s 64 teams playing in the first round and 32 teams playing in the second round, there are basketball games on from noon to midnight for four days straight. In fact, there’s even multiple games happening at once so you have to flip the channels back and forth. So you bet I spent the entire first weekend of the tournament camped out on my couch, with my favorite food and drink while watching the tournament. (For some reflections on how March Madness is like life, check out this post.)

Free Chick-fil-a Goodies

Chick-fil-a Diet Dr. Pepper

Speaking of March Madness, one of my local Chick-fil-a’s did a fun promotion where whenever UNC won in the NCAA tournament, you would get a free select menu item if you said “Go UNC” the next day. They also did this for another local team, but I did not participate in that! One of the “Go UNC” promos was a free large fountain soft drink, and another was a free cookie. Does anyone else think fountain Diet Dr. Pepper tastes the best at Chick-fil-a?!

Girls’ Weekend Pizza Night

Papa John's Pizza Night

My bestie came for a girls’ weekend in the middle of March, and we had a great time. One of our favorite traditions during girls’ weekend is to order a Papa John’s delivery pizza. It never disappoints! This time around I broke out the Mickey Mouse paper plates that I bought at Target last summer.

Jason’s Deli Salad Bar

Jason's Deli Salad Bar

Jason’s Deli sone of my favorite quick service restaurants, and I get the salad bar every time. There are so many toppings to choose from so that you can make your salad filling enough to be a meal. I also love the mini gingerbread muffins, individually wrapped graham crackers, and free soft serve ice cream you get with your meal too. My bestie and I went to Jason’s Deli for lunch while she was visiting, and it was my first trip there in months. It definitely hit the spot!

Duck Donuts

While my bestie was here, we also had a delicious breakfast at Duck Donuts. It’s a chain that originated in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. I love that their donuts are cake-based, and each one is made to order. You pick which type of glaze/frosting and topping that you want. I lean towards chocolate with rainbow sprinkles. This was only my second time getting Duck Donuts, and the first time I went was back in November. So it was a nice treat. Their lattes are good too!

March brought some of the most exciting blogging news I’ve had to date-I’m now an official Jack Rogers Brand Ambassador. I’ve been wearing and loving this brand for nearly eight years! You can read more about this exciting opportunity here, and shop all Jack Rogers here.

Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn

Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn 2019

The Lilly Pulitzer for Pottery Barn collaboration release was definitely another one of my March 2019 Favorites. I definitely made room in my budget to pick up a few things, although I could have bought almost everything! You can check out my Lilly fo Pottery Barn haul here, and all of my Lilly for Pottery Barn faves here.

Kate Spade Pineapple Salt & Pepper Shakers

Kate Spade Pineapple Salt and Pepper Shakers

My bestie got me these Kate Spade pineapple salt and pepper shakers for my birthday! I featured them on the blog awhile back in either a sale round up or wish list post, but I had forgotten about that. So it was a nice surprise to open them up, and I thought it was so sweet that my friend used my blog as gift guide for me. She’s been one of the biggest supporters of my blog since day one! You can shop these salt and pepper shakers here. PS. My birthday was definitely one of my March favorites too, but I will do a separate post soon with more details on how I celebrated. So stay tuned!

Lilly Pulitzer Coastal Blue Lion Around Tumbler

Lilly Pulitzer Coastal Blue Lion Around Tumbler

Another one of my friends got me this Lilly Pulitzer 12 oz insulated tumbler in the Coastal Blue Lion Around print. I love this print because the color is close to Carolina blue, and it features lions and tigers. I couldn’t find this tumbler on the Lilly website, but they do have a pillow in this same print here.

Thanks so much for reading all about my March 2019 Favorites. Hope you enjoyed it, and I’m looking forward to sharing more about my birthday celebration on here soon. What are some things y’all have been loving this past month?

-xoxo Liz
