Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude: The Scarf You Need

Hey y’all- Happy hump day! It’s been a super hectic week for me, but tomorrow is my Friday and I’ve got a super fun weekend ahead. Today I want to share the newest addition to my scarf collection, and chat a little about breast cancer awareness. If you’ve been reading Palmettos & Pineapples for bit, then you know that Lilly Pulitzer scarves are one of my favorite fall accessories. My scarf collection is getting a bit large. So these days, I try to be super intentional these days about which ones I buy. However, I couldn’t resist buying the new Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude print scarf. Read on to learn more on why this is such a special new addition to my wardrobe.

Lilly Pulitzer often designs a print for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A portion of the proceeds go to benefit an organization that promotes breast cancer awareness or research. This year’s Lilly breast cancer awareness print, Pawsitive Cattitude, is one of my favorites. In addition to being pink (the well-known color for breast cancer awareness), it has cats! So naturally I was especially drawn to it. Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude comes in several items, but I chose to buy the scarf because it fit into my budget the best and is the most versatile. I love how you can mix and match scarves with different tops and dresses to create different looks. Also, the tassels on this particular scarf are so fun!

Lilly Loves Bright Pink

Lilly Pulitzer’s breast cancer awareness month prints are part of their Prints with Purpose collection. Through the Prints with Purpose program, Lilly promotes different charities and non-profits while donating money to different causes. This year, Lilly Pulitzer is collaborating with Bright Pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Bright Pink is a non-profit that empowers women to know their risk for breast cancer and ovarian cancer, and to be proactive about their breast and ovarian health with regard to their personal risk factors. This month, Lilly will donate $26,000 to Bright Pink. The Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude print is such a cute and stylish way to raise awareness for this great cause.

The mission of Bright Pink is near and dear to my heart because I am considered at increased risk for breast cancer. Another blog post is coming soon on what I’m doing to manage my risk and be proactive about my breast health, so stay tuned. The causes of breast cancer are complex and there is no way to predict who will get breast cancer. However, awareness of your personal risk of breast cancer enables you to take actions within your control to facilitate prevention and early detection. Another thing I really like about Bright Pink is that their target audience is women ages 18-45. Although breast cancer is uncommon in young women (especially those under 40), it’s not unheard of it. Therefore, it’s super important to know your risk and take action!

Bright Pink has a handy risk assessment tool you can take online right here. You will also receive some action steps based on your results.

Outfit Details Round-Up

Here’s are a few more pics showing how I styled my Lilly Pulitzer Pawsitive Cattitude scarf at the UNC football game this past weekend. I really wanted to wear it, and I thought it would be fun to add a pop of pink to my Carolina blue top. As you can see, I got a couple of mascot pictures, which made it a successful day.

Praying for the day when we can eradicate this awful disease this side of heaven. But until then, we have to utilize all resources at hand for prevention and early detection.

Really great post Liz! I love the pink scarf against the blue top in your pics! I love seeing brands donating and giving back. I hadn’t heard of their prints with a purpose before, but what a terrific way to continually give back!
