Beach Night Style: Lilly On Parade

Hey y’all and happy hump day! If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I spent a long weekend at the beach last week. My bestie came and joined me on Friday night and stayed through Sunday. When she arrived in Emerald Isle on Friday, we went and had a late dinner at Rucker John’s, one of my absolute favorite restaurants. I thought girls’ beach weekend was the perfect opportunity to break out a new Lilly top I bought back in June, the Etta V-Neck top in “On Parade.” I wore this top with jean shorts out to dinner at Rucker John’s. The Lilly Pulitzer On Parade print is one of my current favorites. Keep reading for more outfit details!

So I absolutely adore the color scheme of Lilly Pulitzer “On Parade.” The background color is actually called “sea salt blue,” which sounds so beachy to me. Pinks & greens complement the sea salt blue beautifully. In addition, “On Parade” features zoo animals, including elephants and giraffes. Lilly prints that incorporate animals are my favorite. In fact, “On Parade” reminds me a lot of one of my other favorite Lilly prints- “It’s a Zoo” from the Spring 2014 collection.

Etta V-Neck Top

I love the Lilly Etta V-Neck top because it is so flowy and comfy. The price point is also amazing-it’s a great way to add a current favorite print to your closet without breaking the bank. Since I have so many Lilly dresses now, it’s hard for me to justify paying full price for a new Lilly dress. So if I really love a print, like “On Parade,” and don’t want to wait for it to go on sale at the end of the season, I can compromise and get a top. The Etta top runs true to size, but I sized up so I would have a little extra room in the underarms. Thanks to hot and humid Southern summers, I like to have a little bit of extra breathing room there. I wore my Etta Top with jean shorts, but it would also look great with white skinny jeans. (This is actually my second Etta Top. To see photos of how I styled the Etta Top in another print, click here.)

Shoes & Jewelry

My hot pink Jelly Jack Rogers match Lilly Pulitzer “On Parade” quite nicely. Since there were showers on and off and I didn’t want to mess up my leather sandals in there rain, these Jelly Jacks were perfect. With respect to jewelry, my Lilly Tusk In Sun elephant statement cuff went well with the elephants in the print. I get compliments on this Lilly elephant bracelet frequently. In fact, it might be one of my most-complimented pieces of Lilly. I wish it was still available so I could link it for y’all, but I got it in 2014. If Lilly ever decides to reintroduce it, I will make sure y’all know! Finally, my Kendra Scott ivory mother of pearl Elle earrings and platinum druzy Elisa pendant finished off this look.

Seriously, these Kendra Scott Elle earrings might be my new favorite earrings. They literally go with everything, and you can wear them with both dressy and casual outfits. (For a peek at how I styled them with a dressier look, click here.)
