Hey y’all- hope your Monday isn’t too rough. I spent this past weekend at the beach with my bestie, and now have a short work week before heading back to the beach for Labor Day weekend. Anyways, it’s hard to believe that this is the last week of summer. Labor Day is only one week away. Seriously, I feel like it was just Memorial Day weekend the other day! If you’re a Southern traditionalist like me, the seersucker, white jeans, and summery print Lilly dresses & shorts stay in the closet after Labor Day passes. But when it can remain 80-90 degrees well into September, what’s a Southern girl to do? Enter your closet’s new best friend, the Lauren James Ali Slub Top.

Lauren James Ali Slub Top
I bought the Lauren James Ali Slub Top in two different colors when it was on sale earlier this summer. I immediately fell in love with it because I adore the fit and the versatility. You can wear this top during the final week of summer with your favorite seersucker or summery print shorts. But you can also transition the Ali Slub Top into those toasty early fall days by pairing it with printed shorts that aren’t super summery, like these light blue Tusk In Sun print Lilly Pulitzer Callahan shorts. (This is seriously one of my favorite Lilly prints ever, and I’ve lost track of how many items I own it in the various colorways. Check out this post to see how I styled a Lilly dress in this same print but different color.) And even when temperatures drop to the point that it’s no longer shorts and tank top weather, you can pair this top with jeans and a cardigan. The Lauren James Ali Slub top comes in four different colors, which you can view here.
Seriously, this top is perfect to wear now while enjoying a late summer popsicle, and to wear later while enjoying a pumpkin spice latte. In addition to the coral color featured in these pictures, I also have the Lauren James Ali Slub Top in navy. Great news- it’s still on sale for less than $25!
It’s All in the Details
Here’s a close up so y’all can see how the coral Lauren James Ali Slub Top pairs nicely with my light blue Tusk In Sun Lilly shorts. I love that this print isn’t too summery, so I can wear these shorts as long as the weather permits. I have some navy blue zebra print Lilly shorts that will also go well with this coral top. Also, the Lauren James logo is embroidered into the bottom corner of the Ali Slub top. I love little details like this in clothing, even if it’s not obvious to others when you’re wearing it!
