Kendra Scott Gives Back to Breast Cancer Research

Happy Friday y’all! First of all, thanks so much for the overwhelming support I got on yesterday’s post about my mammogram experience. Today I’m continuing the breast cancer awareness month theme by sharing how Kendra Scott gives back to breast cancer research. If you’ve been reading my blog and/or following me on Instagram for awhile, then you know that Kendra Scott jewelry is one of my newfound obsessions. In addition to designing absolutely gorgeous and timeless jewelry, Kendra Scott also gives back to various charities. Keep reading to learn more about the amazing collaboration she is doing with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation this month. I had the opportunity to attend a shop for a cause event at a local Kendra Scott store earlier this month, and I’m sharing about that as well.

Kendra Scott and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

This October, Kendra Scott has designed a special line of jewelry to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There’s also some nail lacquer and candles in this collection as well. When you buy something from this limited-edition collection, 20% of the purchase price will fund Kendra Scott’s $250,000 grant to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This is the highest rated breast cancer organization in America. Their research focuses on treating and preventing breast cancer metastasis.

In addition to financially supporting this important grant, your Kendra Scott purchase will help encourage a women undergoing cancer treatment. Every time someone buys a piece from this special collection, Kendra Scott will gift a cancer patient with a piece of jewelry and handwritten note. How sweet is that?!

Here the gorgeous display in the Kendra Scott store at North Hills in Raleigh, NC. You can shop the collection online here. Kendra Scott gives back to breast cancer research, and you get a beautiful piece of jewelry. That’s what I call a win-win situation!

Gorgeous Pink Opal

Most of the jewelry in Kendra Scott’s breast cancer awareness collection this year features an absolutely gorgeous light pink opal stone. There’s a shimmer to the stone, and it will look different depending on how the light hits it. You can get stud earrings, a dainty pendant necklace, a delicate chain bracelet, and small drop earrings. I bought the Emery stud earrings, and they are definitely my favorite piece from this special collection. They are the perfect size, and the light pink color is very versatile. If you are shopping online, note that the stones on these styles are smaller than the stones on Kendra Scott’s Ellie studs, Elisa pendant, and Elaina bracelet. You can see a closer look at the Pink Opal Emery Studs below, but they are even prettier in person!

Shop for Good

A couple weeks ago, Anna from My Cancer Chic hosted a Shop for Good event at the Kendra Scott store  at North Hills in Raleigh. In case you haven’t read yesterday’s post yet, here’s some background. Anna was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 27. She had a double mastectomy and chemotherapy. Three years later, Anna is cancer-free, but she is still committed to using her blog as a platform to build community and encourage young women battling breast cancer. Even those who who haven’t had cancer can still relate to her because her story inspires anyone facing adversity. Anna also encourages all women to be proactive about their health, including monthly breast self-exams. Furthermore, Anna is extremely passionate about educating people to make sure they are supporting companies during breast cancer awareness month that actually make a difference in the fight against breast cancer, such as Kendra Scott.

During the Shop for Good event Anna hosted, Kendra Scott at North Hills donated 20% of all purchases to the Young Survival Coalition. This organization provides support and resources to young women facing breast cancer. So I felt especially great about the purchase of my new pink opal earrings since nearly half of the purchase went towards organizations dedicated to fighting breast cancer. I also bought a bracelet during the event. Although it wasn’t part of Kendra Scott’s collaboration with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 20% of the purchase price still went towards the Young Survival Coalition.

It was also such a delight to meet Anna in person at this event after following her on Instagram for months. She was so positive and upbeat. I’m glad she’s committed to sharing her story and raising awareness through her blog, because if you didn’t know her story you would have no idea she had cancer three years ago!

I’m so thankful that a company like Kendra Scott gives back to breast cancer research!
