Hey y’all! Happy Hump Day. Today I want to chat a little more about one of my latest obsessions: Kendra Scott jewelry. So I first heard of Kendra Scott when the ladies in Lilly Facebook groups talked about how they liked to wear Kendra Scott with their Lilly. For awhile, I didn’t really have much interest. I figured I had enough jewelry. Furthermore, I assumed Kendra Scott was primarily statement jewelry and thought I wouldn’t wear it enough to justify the price point. However, that changed when I admired this dainty Kendra Scott choker length pendant I saw some friends wearing. Then another friend mentioned the Kendra Scott birthday discount. You get 50% off any one item in-store during your birthday month. All you have to do is show your ID, and you can pick out pretty much anything (excluding fine jewelry).

When the beginning of March came I went to my local store to cash in on the Kendra Scott birthday discount. I planned to buy the Elisa Pendant, the style I had admired on my friends. I chose the ivory mother of pearl stone with a gold chain because it would literally go with everything. The Elisa Pendant is affordable to begin with, but the 50% discount made it even more so. Especially when you factor in the “cost per wear” of a necklace you could literally wear every day if you wanted.
Genius Marketing Strategy
Let me tell you, whoever came up with the 50% off Kendra Scott birthday discount is a marketing genius. I wore my ivory mother of pearl Elisa necklace almost every day the first week I had it. It didn’t take me long realize that would not be the only piece of Kendra Scott I ever purchased. Of course I could always wait until my birthday next year to buy my next piece for 50% off. But let’s be honest, even if I bought more Kendra Scott before March 2019, I wouldn’t have any problem picking something else out when my birthday month rolled around again. I’m sure whoever came up with the generous Kendra Scott birthday discount knew people wouldn’t want to wait another year before shopping there again!
Adding to My Kendra Collection
So last week when Kendra Scott had a gift with purchase promotion, I bought two additional pieces on my wish list, which put me just over the minimum spend threshold for the free gift.
First up, I added another Elisa Pendant to my collection: the platinum druzy with gold chain.
I knew that I wanted my next Elisa Pendant to have a druzy stone, and I wanted another neutral color that would match everything. I choose platinum because I thought it would look more different from my ivory mother of pearl Elisa than the iridescent druzy would.
Next up, I bought the Elle drop earrings in purple jade.
With the exception of my Sheila Fajl hoops, pretty much all my earrings are studs. And those still have post backs rather than fishhook backs. So I decided I wanted to branch out and get some dangling earrings. I was thinking about how cute some dangling statement earrings would be for game day in the fall, so I chose the purple. These will be so cute with my Clemson jersey, as well as orange tops and dresses. Of course, I will definitely wear them plenty of times before then!
A Freebie
Then I got this Delaney necklace for FREE! It looks similar to the Elisa, but the stone is larger. It is also on an adjustable slide chain rather than the lobster clasp. Thus, you can wear it long or short. When I browsed the necklaces online, I thought I would want to get the magenta one, but when I saw them in store I couldn’t resist the lilac mother of pearl stone. I also love that the chain is rose gold. This is currently sold out online, but I will be sure to link it here when it becomes available again.
I am super excited to share with y’all how I style these new Kendra Scott baubles in future posts! To see some pics of how I styled my ivory mother of pearl Kendra Scott Elissa, click here.
Kendra Scott Wish List
Even with my new purchases, there is still plenty on my Kendra Scott wish list. I’m going to have to hold off for awhile before I buy any. The Kendra Scott birthday discount definitely roped me in! Now I can’t get enough and I see what all the hype is about. The quality is excellent, and the jewelry matches so many of my outfits! Here are a few things I hope to add to my Kendra collection in the future:
Elle Earrings in Ivory Mother of Pearl
I definitely want more Elle drop earrings. The ivory ones will go with everything, magenta will match a lot of my clothes, and orange will also be great for Clemson game day if I’m wearing a white or purple top!
Elisa Pendant in Rose Gold Druzy
Elisa Pendant in Iridescent Druzy with Rose Gold
I wouldn’t mind adding some additional colors in the Elisa to my jewelry wardrobe either, especially some with a rose gold chain and setting.
Ellie Earring in Rose Gold Druzy
Ellie Earring in Ivory Mother of Pearl
I would also really like some of the classic stud Elle earrings in neutral colors.
