Hey y’all- hope your Monday was great, and happy first full week of February. I know that some people think January lasted an eternity, but I actually thought it went by pretty quickly. If you’re new around here, it’s a tradition for me to share a few things/experiences I’ve been loving lately. So today, I’m highlighting a few of my January 2019 favorites.

Clemson Is National Champions!
Watching Clemson football beat Alabama to win their second national championship in three years was definitely the highlight of my January! Although the game got off to a stressful start and looked like it would be a nail biter, Clemson pulled away in the second quarter and it ended up being a total beatdown. And the best part was Clemson’s coach, Dabo Swinney, giving all the glory to God in his post-game comments. I was super excited to get this adorable long-sleeved t-shirt that Lauren James designed to commemorate Clemson’s newest National Championship. The front pocket has the “2018 National Champions” logo in orange, and the back has the cutest tiger design with a football. I really like that it gives a nod to Clemson’s 1981 and 2016 national titles as well. You can get one of these shirts for yourself (or a Clemson fan in your life) here.
Lauren James Reed Sweatshirt
Most of my January 2019 favorites are actually Lauren James outerwear, since they had multiple 50% off sales during January. One of my Lauren James purchases was this super soft and comfy sweatshirt that’s perfect for pulling on if you’re ready for the weekend. “Is It Friday Yet?” is actually embroidered on, which really ups the quality. Good news- it’s back on the Lauren James website here.
Lauren James Alpine Pullover
If you’ve been reading my blog or following me on Instagram for any period of time, then you know my obsession with Lauren James Sherpa pullovers. I had been eyeing this different style, called the Alpine, and bought it during the 50% off outerwear style. The Carolina blue color also really appealed to me because it will be perfect for cozying up on the couch while watching basketball in the winter, or for wearing to a chilly football game next fall. You can shop it here.
Lauren James Lenon Cardigan
This next Lauren James find from the outerwear sale is very unique. I don’t own anything else quite like it, and I’m really glad that I snagged it on sale because it’s perfect! Basically, it has the shape of a cardigan, but warmth and thickness of a coat. It’s lined with Sherpa so it’s super warm. While you wouldn’t want to depend on this on a super cold day because it doesn’t button or zip, it’s perfect for me to wear in my cold office without totally killing the vibes of my work outfit. Also, it was perfect to throw on this morning when it was chilly, and then shed when temperatures got into the upper 60’s. You can shop the Lauren James Lenon Cardigan here.
Lauren James Linden Sherpa 2.0
Lauren James updated their Linden Sherpa pullover this season by adding pockets and making it even warmer and cozier. I didn’t think it was possible to improve upon the original Linden Sherpa, but they proved me wrong, The outerwear sale was the perfect opportunity to try out the Linden 2.0, including the ivory one pictured above. I like the ivory because I can accessorize with scarves of any color. Since I am pretty cold-natured and often have a hard time taking my coat off inside during the winter, these are perfect for me. I’ve basically lived in them this winter. They make super cozy loungewear, but are also great to throw on with jeans for a causal gathering with friends. Furthermore, I can wear them to work on casual Friday. Good news- this is still available on the Lauren James website here. You can check out a couple pictures of my blush pink Linden Sherpa 2.0 here.
ban.do Reslience Necklace
I had been wanting this “Reslience” necklace from ban.do’s Jen Gotch x Iconery line for awhile. This special collection of jewelry aims to eliminate the stigma of mental illness by encouraging conversation. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from this line go to Bring Change to Mind, an organization devoted to eliminating the stigma of mental illness. Resilience is a big part of my mental health journey, so this necklace has special meaning to me. I absolutely love this excerpt from the product description on their website:
“…resilience doesn’t mean that you are above curling up on the floor in the fetal position, devastated by stress and emotion . . . . It just means that at some point, you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and move on.”
You can shop this necklace here.
Redken Extreme Strengthening Shampoo
For the longest time, I used Herbal Essence shampoo and conditioner, and thought that was fine. However, I have recently discovered that salon brand haircare product are worth the extra cost. Last summer I started using the Redken Extreme Strengthening Conditioner, but still used drugstore brand shampoo. In January, I decided to upgrade to the Redken Extreme Strengthening Shampoo. I can already tell a difference! My hair feels softer and more manageable, and my bestie commented on how shiny it’s been looking lately. I don’t color my hair, and keep heat styling to a bare minimum (like only a few minutes of blow-drying the days I wash it.) However, since it’s so long and the texture is fine, it’s important that I use quality products that will help minimize breakage and the inevitable split ends.
Thanks for reading, and I hope y’all enjoyed learning more about my January 2019 Favorites. I’ve also been loving my LL Bean Boots and new couch this past month. But since I’ve recently written detailed posts on both of these things, I didn’t want to come across as too redundant. If you’re interested, you can read about Bean Boots here, and couch buying tips here.
Have y’all bought or tried any of my January 2019 favorites? What are some things y’all have been loving lately?
-xoxo Liz
