If the (Lauren James) Dress Fits…

It has felt like winter all week here in central North Carolina, but spring is just around the corner! I absolutely love spring and the feeling of new beginnings in the air that it brings; not to mention my birthday, warmer weather, more daylight, Easter, and seersucker season!

Seersucker is probably my favorite preppy Southern wardrobe staple, but I am a stickler and only wear it between Easter and Labor Day. I made an exception for this photo shoot with Amelia Cassar Photography, because I wanted to share one of my favorite spring looks with y’all and provide some styling inspiration, because it’s never too early to plan the perfect outfit. Lauren James is my favorite clothing company, and nobody does seersucker better than her. My favorite piece from her seersucker dress collection is the Harper Dress in solid seersucker. I can’t wait to break out my Lauren James Harper dress once Easter rolls around! The classic shift dress fit is perfection, and the simple neckline makes it easy to swap out accessories so that you can wear the same dress with a slightly different look. You can wear it with sandals for a more casual gathering, or dress it up with heels or wedges for a wedding or more formal event. I adore the Lauren James Harper Dress in solid seersucker so much I want it in every color! I am wearing the “Powder Blue” color in these pictures. Also, if you like your shift dresses to have a slightly more relaxed fit, I recommend sizing up. This dress would make the perfect outfit for Easter, a Kentucky Derby party, bridal shower, graduation, or a wedding. Scroll down to see how I styled it with two different necklaces and with and without a fun Lilly Pulitzer hat.

Look One

Necklace: Kate SpadeĀ // Ā Bag: Tory Burch // Ā Sandals: Tory Burch* // Sunnies: Tory BurchĀ Water Bottle: S’well Lilly Pulitzer x Starbucks // Ā Bracelet: Lilly Pulitzer
Earrings: Sheila Fajl // Ā Watch: Kate Spade

Note—I bought my necklace from a Kate Spade sale several years back, but I have linked to Kate Spade’s necklace collection where you can find some other fun pieces. My Kate Spade watch was a TJ Maxx find, so I have linked to the current Kate Spade watch collection for inspiration. My bag and sunglasses are also several years old (because Tory Burch is timeless) but I have linked some similar ones. I actually got my sunnies at Saks Off 5th, and highly recommend browsing discount stores for designer sunnies! My Lilly S’well bottle is unfortunately unavailable unless you want to spend crazy amounts on eBay. If you want to buy some Sheila Fajl hoops, I highly recommend buying them from Lydia Lister Jewelry. Lydia is a sweet friend of my mentor and former Bible Study leader from when I lived in Greenville, SC. Click here to order them through her website.
