How to Style a Classic Striped Dress

Hey y’all and happy Friday! Did anyone else struggle getting back into the groove this week following the Thanksgiving holiday? I’m definitely excited about a low-key weekend of watching football and Christmas movies, plus meeting up with a friend who will be in town. Anyways, today’s post features some more outfit inspiration for y’all. I’m sharing how to style a classic striped dress, one of my closest staples that’s appropriate for so many occasions!

How to Style a Classic Striped Dress

I actually wore this dress to church and brunch during my trip to Greenville, SC back in October. However, I’m sharing it now because it’s also a great option to wear during the holidays. In fact, I actually wore this dress to church on Christmas Eve several years ago. Stripes are always appropriate, but wearing them during the holidays reminds me of candy canes. The reddish-pink color in this dress makes the stripes especially festive.

Lilly Stripes

My classic striped dress is by Lilly Pulitzer, and it’s actually from several years ago. However, this striped dress currently available from Lilly is a very similar style. It even has the faux pockets with gold buttons on the front. Although the color isn’t super festive by itself, you could always add some red, green, or sparkly accessories for a holiday event. In addition, I discovered this striped Lilly dress on thredUP, and it has a greenish tint to it. This pink & white striped Lilly dress also available on thredUP reminds me of peppermint candy! And although it’s not exactly Christmas-y, this easy cotton striped dress currently on the Lilly website would be great for a variety of occasions throughout the year.

More Striped Dresses

Although Lilly Pulitzer has some solid options for striped dresses, I still want to share a few of my picks from other brands. I love this one by Draper James. The pop of red around the waist gives it a hint of holiday vibe. I also like these striped dresses from LOFT, Old Navy, and Southern Tide. Speaking of Southern Tide, we stopped by their store in downtown Greenville while I was wearing this post’s featured look. I really wish I could have taken this Southern Tide bench back to my apartment, haha!

Styled by Me

Now that I’ve shared a few striped dresses currently available from Lilly Pulitzer and other brands, I’m going to share a little bit more about how I styled my classic striped dress. I wore navy tights and my
go-to cowgirl boots. My navy tights actually came from TJ Maxx, and I need to replace them since I wore a hole in the toe the other week. I’ve had them for close to four years though, so they served me well for a season. Now on to jewelry! I wore my rose gold Sheila Fajl hoops, which definitely “pop.” I kept the rest of my jewelry understated and simple though, with my Kendra Scott Elisa pendant and Elaina bracelet.

Hope that y’all enjoyed this post and that it gave you some styling inspiration for the holidays and beyond!

What are y’all up to this weekend? The next two weekends for me are filled with Christmas festivities, so I plan to make the most of the down-time this weekend. I love all the festive events, but know I will enjoy them more if I’ve had a chance to knock some things off my to-do list this weekend. Working full-time, running this blog, maintaining a social life, and keeping my place organized is no joke!

As always, thanks for reading!
