Holiday Outfit Inspiration: Styling a Festive Sleeveless Blouse

Hey there-hope y’all had a great weekend. I went to my first Christmas event of the season, and finally finished decorating my Christmas tree. So since I’m feeling in the Christmas spirit, I thought I would share some holiday outfit inspiration with y’all today. I’m featuring the outfit I wore to the Andrew Peterson “Behold the Lamb of God” concert on Friday night. I hope it gives y’all some ideas on styling a festive sleeveless blouse for your various holiday events!

Festive Lilly Pulitzer Sleeveless Blouse

I wore a royal blue Lilly Pulitzer sleeveless silk blouse with a turquoise and pinkish red tassel print. Disclaimer, I’ve actually had this top for nine years, and I don’t wear it often because it’s silk and I don’t like dealing with time and expense of dry cleaning. Now that I’m nine years older and wiser, I no longer buy silk tops, because I know I like to avoid the dry cleaners at all costs. However, I still hang on to this silk Lilly top, because it’s nice to break out every once in awhile for festive occasions where I know I won’t be wearing it for long or consuming any messy food or drink. And I hope by sharing it, I can still give y’all some ideas on how to style a festive sleeveless blouse for a Christmas season event. Here’s a look at this Lilly Pulitzer silk blouse:

First of all, please excuse the fact that my Christmas tree is only partially decorated in this picture. Second, I just think the tassel print on this blouse is so festive, especially because the colors are variations of traditional Christmas red and green.

Other Festive Sleeveless Blouse Options

Since I’ve had this Lilly Pulitzer top for nine years, there’s nothing quite like it currently available. However, I did round-up some other festive sleeveless blouses I found online for y’all. Since I don’t really buy silk tops anymore, most of these are not silk and don’t require dry cleaning. Yay! The one exception is this sleeveless Lilly Pulitzer blouse, because it’s the closest thing to what I’m wearing that’s currently available. I also found several machine-washable options that are lower price points as well: this one from J.Crew Factory, this one from LOFT, this plaid one from Vineyard Vines, and this red & white striped one from Vineyard Vines.

Add a Cardigan

I don’t like to wear sleeveless tops inside in the winter without a cardigan, unless it’s really warm inside. My cardigan is Lilly Pulitzer as well, and I got it on sale years ago. They don’t really have a similar style cardigan currently available. However, J.Crew Factory is one of my go-tos for classic cardigans to add some layers to a sleeveless top in the winter.

Other Outfit Details

Basic dark wash skinny jeans, black ballet flats, and some of my favorite Kendra Scott jewelry completed this outfit!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and that it gave you some good outfit inspiration for the Christmas holiday season. What kind of fun holiday festivities do you have coming up? What are some of your go-to Christmas outfit ideas?

PS. I highly recommend checking out Andrew Peterson’s “Behold the Lamb of God” recording here. It’s absolutely beautiful original music that reminds you of the true meaning of Christmas-God sending a Savior to this fallen earth to redeem humanity from their sin. As this excerpt from Every Moment Holy by Douglas McKelvey states, all of our Christmas traditions and parties “are but small ways in which we repeat the sounding joy first proclaimed by angels in the skies near Bethlehem.” We read this liturgy during the concert on Friday, and I thought it was such a sweet reminder.
