February 2019 Outfit Snapshots

Hey y’all! What a week it’s been here on Palmettos & Pineapples. Last week I celebrated my one-year blogging anniversary, shared tips for starting a blog, and then detailed how the Lord brought me through heartbreak. Then I kicked off this week with a post devoted to National Eating Disorders Awareness Week. Today’s post, however, is much less intense. (My bestie said my past two posts have made her cry, but in a good way. Nevertheless I’m sure she will be glad for a little break with this one!) I’m sharing snapshots of a few outfits I’ve worn over the past month. Sometimes when I’m out and about I take quick photos of outfits I want to share, but don’t have enough content to devote an entire blog post to it. When I’m with friends, I don’t want to turn our entire time together into a blog photoshoot for me. I often share these outfit snapshots on Instagram, but I want to start sharing them here on the blog as well to give y’all some outfit inspiration. So, here’s a few miscellaneous outfits I’ve loved this past month.

Lilly Pulitzer Hot Pink Fleece Jacket & Printed Scarf

I wore the following outfit a few weeks ago for an afternoon at Southpoint Mall with a friend. We got coffee and mostly window-shopped (although I did pick something up at Lilly Pulitzer). The hot pink Lilly fleece jacket is actually over five years old, but it has held up well. This Lilly scarf is a special print that was exclusively available in Palm Avenue stores. Lilly currently has a few different prints available in the same style scarf. Proceeds from the sale of this scarf went to the Amani Children’s Foundation in Kenya. My earrings are these gorgeous gold bar drop earrings from Allie Marie, Skinny jeans and cowgirl boots complete this look.

Lightweight Lauren James Sweater & Lilly Scarf

A couple weeks ago I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory the Musical at the Durham Performing Arts Center (DPAC) with a friend. It was such a fun girls’ night out. I wore this lightweight pink sweater from Lauren James. It has a long hem (especially if you’re 5’3″ like me), and dropped armholes. It’s so soft and comfy and is now on sale for less than $40! I actually have it in the ivory as well, and wouldn’t mind owning it in the other two colors as well. I styled it with my Florida print Lilly Pulitzer scarf, which I’ve had for nearly four years. This is the same style scarf as the one I’m wearing in the first look in this post. You can shop currently available prints in this style scarf here. My Allie Marie gold bar earrings made a repeat appearance with this look. Citizens of Humanity skinny jeans and Tory Burch flats finish off the look. Although this particular style Tory Burch flat is no longer available, you can shop a similar one here.

Bean Boots with Corduroy Skirt

Sometimes I like to mix things up and wear my L.L. Bean Boots with a skirt and tights rather than jeans or leggings. This particular skirt and Bean Boots look is paired with a light blue cable knit cardigan and yet another Lilly Pulitzer scarf. This one is the North Carolina print. It’s several years old, but you can check out other prints in this same style here. My cable knit sweater is Lilly Pulitzer, and I’ve had it for about eight years now. But I found a similar one here. My corduroy skirt is from Lauren James. It comes in four different colors. Although you can’t tell in this picture, it has patch pockets with scallop details, and an exposed zipper in the back. I wore this outfit to work last week.

I hope that y’all enjoyed this post and that it gave you some inspiration for pulling together a few outfits during these final weeks of winter. Although I don’t love cold weather, wearing my chilly weather fashion favorites like Lilly scarves, cozy fleece, and L,L, Bean boots is definitely a silver lining.

PS. Don’t forget that you can easily shop my outfit details from your phone via the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. I sometimes upload looks on there that don’t make it to a blog post or my Instagram feed, so be sure and follow me there!
