Hey there- hope y’all had a great weekend! Today I’m excited to share a little recap of my time at the Clemson game last weekend, featuring one of my favorite mascots and a new favorite orange top. I love cheering on my Tigers and tailgating with friends, but it’s always the icing on the cake when I can snag a photo with the Clemson Tiger Cub, aka The Cub, or Cubby. Read on for more about my gameday experience, and my new Crown & Ivy polka dot top!

Clemson Tiger Cub
Overall, The Cub is the cutest mascot in college sports. He typically wears a jersey with the number “1/2.” because he’s just a cub. But since last weekend was homecoming at Clemson, he wore these vintage purple throwback overalls. Although I have multiple pictures with The Cub, I am really excited to add this one to my collection, because I think these overalls are beyond adorable. Also, there’s no such thing as too many photo opps with Cubby! He doesn’t have a designated meet & greet time on gameday, so I have to be intentional about seeking him out. So it always feels like a bit of an accomplishment when I’m successful at getting a gameday picture with him. Also, today is actually National Cat Day, so I thought this was quite fitting to share today!
Crown & Ivy Polka Dot Top
Unfortunately, I can’t link the Clemson Tiger Cub’s cute purple overalls in the LIKEtoKNOW.it app. Ha! However, I can share all the details about my Crown & Ivy polka dot top. Although I have been familiar with Crown & Ivy for awhile, this was actually my first purchase from the brand. Funny story-I actually stopped in the Belk in Winston-Salem on the way back from the Clemson game at Wake Forest a few weeks ago, because I wanted to see if they had the Lilly breast cancer awareness scarf. They didn’t have the scarf, but while I was in there the Crown & Ivy rack caught my eye. I saw so much cute orange (us Southern girls are always on the lookout for new outfits in our team’s colors!) and everything was 50% off. When I tried on the Crown & Ivy polka dot top in orange, I knew I had to have it, and the amazing sale sealed the deal! It’s actually still on sale, and you can snag one for yourself here. This top was definitely an impulse buy, but I have zero regrets. The polka dots make me feel like Minnie Mouse going to a Clemson game!
I also tried on this orange leopard print top, but ended up not getting it. I decided I could only justify one top that day. However, it’s super cute and perfect for Clemson gameday, so I might have to get it eventually.
The Crown & Ivy Brand
As I mentioned above, this top was my first Crown & Ivy purchase. Crown & Ivy is available exclusively at Belk, and you can check out their entire collection here. They have clothing, accessories, shoes, and home items. Belk describes the brand as follows: “inspired by the class, color, and heritage of Charleston, Crown & Ivy delivers modern, preppy style for the family and home.” So if you’re a fan of preppy brands like Lilly Pulitzer and Vineyard Vines, then you will love Crown & Ivy. Even at full price, the price point is lower than Lilly and Vineyard Vines. But the quality is excellent, and the shirt I bought is so soft and comfortable. I highly recommend!
Outfit Details Round-Up
Here are the details from the rest of my outfit. Note that my Kendra Scott necklace is currently on sale as well!
Saturdays in Death Valley
Finally here’s a couple more pics of the gameday scenery in Clemson, one from inside the stadium and another from our tailgate spot:
Saturdays in Death Valley are Saturdays well spent, and bonus when there’s a cute new outfit and cute mascot in the mix!
Hope y’all enjoyed this post and got some gameday styling inspiration. And if you’re not a football fan, hopefully you still liked reading about some super affordable preppy options from Crown & Ivy. Have you ever bought anything from Crown & Ivy before? There’s so much great Crown & Ivy stuff on the Belk website that I might have to round up my favorites for a post in the future. Is that something y’all would like to see? Let me know in the comments!
