Capture the Moment in Corduroy

Hey y’all! Hope your week has been great-it’s almost Friday. I am super excited about today’s post because I am sharing more about the super fun blogger event I went to this past weekend, with some more fall fashion sprinkled in. Katelynn from The Inspiring Investment hosted the first ever Triangle Bloggers “Capture the Moment” event at a home in Raleigh she and her husband recently renovated and staged. Smith Hardy Photo captured some some super fun photos of each of us hanging out in this gorgeous space. I wore one of my favorite fall staples for this event, my Lauren James scalloped corduroy skirt. Keep reading to learn more about the mission of the Inspiring Investment, and to see how I give the same skirt and top a different look by swapping out scarves.

The Inspiring Investment

Katelynn and her husband, Uriah, are the faces behind The Inspiring Investment. In a nutshell, they buy homes in the Raleigh area for a fair price, then renovate and sell. The four-year renovation process for their own family home ignited their interest in the real estate industry, and the rest is history! My favorite thing about The Inspiring Investment is how Katelynn & Uriah use it as an opportunity to share their faith in Christ. On their website, they draw parallels between the process of renovating and restoring a home in disrepair and to the process of Jesus’ redemptive and restorative work in the hearts of those who profess faith in Him. I absolutely love these words from The Inspiring Investment:

“Similar to a house in disrepair, before knowing Christ, our life was a mess. There was a burden we could not bear; but because of Christ, we are being made new.”

I highly encourage y’all to check out the Inspiring Investment’s website and Instagram to learn more about their business and mission, as well as see some amazing before and after pictures of their renovations.

The Most Precious Home

Now that I’ve given y’all some background on the amazing work of The Inspiring Investment, it’s time to share some more pictures of how they staged their most recent renovation project.

I absolutely love this shelf display against a wall in the living room. Also, if you look to the left, you can see a super cute framed drawing of Raleigh on the wall.

Reese Witherspoon Whiskey in a Teacup

Also, how precious is this kitchen? I love the countertops, cabinets, and the fun decorations. It has such an inviting “hop on the countertops and have a good conversation” vibe. Note that I’m reading my copy of Reese Witherspoon’s new coffee table book, Whiskey in a Teacup. I’ve skimmed through it and it’s awesome. Once I have a chance to really read it, I will be sharing a review here on the blog.

Lilly Pulitzer Florida Scarf Lilly Pulitzer Florida Scarf

In these shots from the sweet dining area, you can see that I switched into a different Lilly Pulitzer scarf. This one features Lilly Pulitzer’s Florida print. Although I’m a Carolina girl, Florida holds a special place in my heart because it’s the home of Disney World, the site of Clemson’s 2016 National Championship win, and I lived there for a few years when I was younger.

Lilly Pulitzer North Carolina Scarf

Then in this picture on this chest by the front window, I’m wearing my Lilly Pulitzer scarf in the North Carolina print. Felt like it was appropriate for a shot beside this super cute NC plaque that has a little heart in the approximate location of Raleigh. This picture is also a good reminder to continue to pray for everyone in NC who was impacted by Hurricane Florence.

In the pictures above, you can see how I mixed up my look slightly by swapping out different Lilly Pulitzer scarves, and even tying my scarf in different ways. In these pictures below, I’m wearing yet another Lilly Pulitzer scarf. This print was designed exclusively for Palm Avenue, and benefits the Amani Children’s Home.

Lauren James Scalloped Corduroy Skirt

I wore my Lauren James scalloped corduroy skirt in navy for this shoot because it is one of my favorite fall pieces. It’s also really versatile since the solid navy color lends itself to accessories in different colors and prints. Unfortunately, this exact skirt is not currently available, but Lauren James does have another solid corduroy skirt this fall, as well as this scalloped style in flannel. Look for another post soon with my Lauren James fall favorites.

Outfit Details Round-Up

I went minimal with the earrings in this look by wearing my dainty J.Crew pearl studs. They are definitely a classic staple in any Southern girl’s closet. My elephant cuff bracelet is by Lilly Pulitzer. Although it’s no longer available, it occasionally pops up in their After Party Sale.

I hope that y’all enjoyed this post and that it gave you some fall styling inspiration, as well as some home decor inspiration. Of course I can’t take any credit for the home decor- that’s all The Inspiring Investment. Many thanks to Smith Hardy Photo for capturing these images. I also had a blast meeting Lucy from Lula Lucy at the event. One of my favorite things about blogging is getting to meet and collaborate with other bloggers. Thanks again to Katelynn for hosting this Capture the Moment event, and I can’t wait to do it again!
