Hey there- can y’all believe that there’s only three days left until Christmas? December has definitely flown by! In case you’re looking for a last-minute easy dessert recipe, amidst all your preparation, I’ve got you covered. Today I’m sharing my candy-coated pretzels recipe, aka Liz’s Famous Pretzels. These candy-coated pretzels with red and green m&m’s sprinkled on top are the perfect combination of sweet & salty. I promise they will be a hit at your Christmas gatherings this week! Here we go!
Ingredients
1-pound bag of Snyder’s Mini Pretzel Twists
24 oz of Vanilla flavored Candi-quick or almond bark (It usually comes in 16 oz packages, so I use one and a half packages per batch).
One 11.4 oz bag of m&m’s
Directions
1.Clear off a large surface area on either a counter or table. Spread waxed paper or parchment paper over surface. Pour pretzels into a large bowl.
2.Put candi-quick/almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. Heat on high for 1 min 30 sec, then stir with a spatula. Continue to microwave in 30 second increments until melted. Be careful not to overheat.
3.Pour melted almond bark/candi-quick into the bowl with pretzels and stir until evenly coated.
4.Use spatula to quickly scoop covered pretzels out of the bowl and onto the waxed paper. Spread pretzels into a single layer. Be sure to work quickly!
5.Sprinkle m&m’s on top of pretzels. You want to make sure to do this before the candy coating hardens so they will stick!
6.Once coating is completely hard, store pretzels in an airtight container.
*Note: I often do a half batch at a time because it’s easier to stir and spread. Follow the same directions, but just use half of all the ingredients at a time. Once you have finished sprinkling m&ms on the first half batch, you can do the second half batch.
I originally got this recipe from my aunt, so I have to give her credit! If try this recipe, I would love for you to post on Instagram and tag me (@palmettos_and_pineapples)! You can also let me know in the comments how they turn out.
I hope that y’all have a Merry Christmas! PS. In case you missed it, you can check out my two most recent holiday style posts (casual/loungewear here, and girls’ night out here).
