Hey y’all! Happy Hump Day. Hope everyone is having a great week! So my birthday was actually this past week, and I wanted to share a few things I did to celebrate. I didn’t do anything huge and extravagant, especially because a lot of my friends were out of town for Easter this past weekend. But I did do a handful of little things and am so thankful for all the people in my life who made me feel loved and celebrated.! Even the texts and Facebook posts throughout the day made me feel so cherished.
One of my favorite things about my birthday each year is all the little perks I get from some of my favorite companies:
Kendra Scott
Earlier in the month, I took advantage of the 50% discount Kendra Scott gives you in-store if you show your driver’s license during the month of your birthday. I got my first ever piece of Kendra Scott-this gorgeous Elisa Pendant. You will definitely be seeing a lot of this necklace in future outfit posts. I have actually already lost count of how many times I have worn it over the past month. For a peek at how I have styled it, click here. If you don’t want to wait until your birthday to snag one of these beauties, you can click here to purchase online.*
Starbucks
So one of my favorite parts of my birthday every year is getting my free drink from Starbucks Rewards! The afternoon of my actual birthday, I enjoyed a venti nonfat latte on the house. This is my drink of choice from Starbucks most of the year.
Chick-fil-a
Every year I get a Chick-fil-a cow calendar for Christmas. In addition to the special monthly offer, you have a birthday treat preloaded onto your card the month of your birthday. This year it was a chocolate chunk cookie.
My Actual Birthday
One the evening of my actual birthday, I celebrated with my family by enjoying my dad’s grilled pizza followed by cake & ice cream. Grilled pizza is a tradition with my family birthday celebration And to be honest, a grocery store bakery sheet cake is my favorite kind of cake!
Peep my Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant in this pic, along with one of my favorite Lilly Pulitzer tops.
Fun Times with Friends
I also had a couple low key get-togethers with some friends. The night before my birthday a couple friends came over. We had a photo shoot, watched a movie, and just hung out and talked. Here’s a fun pic of me “jumping into another year of life like…” More photos from this shoot coming soon!
Then last night I had a belated celebration at a cute local coffee shop with some of my friends from my small group. We enjoyed the most delicious mini donuts. I will do another post soon all about this place (Sola Coffee Cafe in Raleigh). It’s one of my faves!
I plan to have some more mini belated celebrations in the next couple weeks to come with some other friends who were out of town closer to my actual birthday. Then will have some super belated celebrations with friends who don’t live in the same city as me.
What are some of y’alls favorite things to do to celebrate your birthday?
-xoxo Liz
I love Sola mini donuts. I have the KS Elisa necklace in three colors and love it. I typically buy the extender for $5 to get even more wear out of it.
Hey Jess! This is my first piece of Kendra Scott and it definitely won’t be my last. I already want additional colors in the Elisa necklace. I’m thinking my next one will be the rose gold with iridescent druzy. I actually got the chain extender as well. I like it because the clasp on the extender is easier to maneuver than the one that already comes on the necklace. Glad you like Sola too-it’s the most precious spot to hang out with friends, especially when the weather is nice!
