Hey there! Hope y’all are having a great week and enjoying some gorgeous spring weather wherever you are. I’m loving being able to break out some of my favorite spring dresses, although I’m not loving the pollen. Today’s post is all about my newest spring wardrobe addition-the cutest preppy rain jacket from Lauren James. This is probably one of the only new clothing items I will buy this spring, since I mentioned a couple weeks ago that I am aiming to be more disciplined with sticking to a monthly budget. However, I had been eyeing the Dottie Ruffle Raincoat ever since Lauren James released their spring line back in February. In addition, I had over $40 of Lauren James rewards points to spend, and some of them were going to expire soon. Therefore, I went ahead and bought it. Lauren James Dottie Ruffle Raincoat
The Lauren James Dottie Ruffle Raincoat is khaki with a navy seersucker lining. You can see the seersucker lining inside the hood, and you can also roll up the sleeves so that the cuffs expose the seersucker lining as well. There’s also precious ruffle detail across the back, and on the snap pockets at the front. The raincoat zips up, but also has snaps. Basically, it’s the cutest preppy rain jacket I’ve ever seen!
Why I Love This Raincoat
Here are just a few reasons why I think the Lauren James Dottie Ruffle Raincoat just might be the best rain jacket ever:
1. It’s super versatile.
Although this is marketed as a raincoat, it honestly works for just a lightweight spring jacket as well. I definitely plan to wear it even when it’s not raining, but I need an extra layer on a cooler spring day or evening.
2. The khaki color goes with everything.
Even though I’m obviously a colors girl, I love that this jacket is neutral, because it will match whatever dress is peeking out from underneath it!
3. It’s a bit dressier than a typical rain jacket.
I like that the Dottie Ruffle Raincoat is a little bit dresser than a standard rain jacket, which means it looks better with a dress. However, it’s not so dressy that you can’t throw it on over shorts and a casual top as well!
4. The little details can’t be beat!
Honestly, the details are what differentiate the Lauren James Dottie Ruffle Raincoat from your typical raincoat. The ruffles add a nice touch, but I especially love the seersucker lining. The hardest part is holding off until Easter before I wear this outside of a photo shoot. Because I’m a stickler on the “no seersucker before Easter” rule. Yes, I’m an old-fashioned Southerner like that! However, since you can technically roll down the sleeves so seersucker doesn’t show on the cuffs, I might break down and wear it sooner, since technically only the hood lining would show seersucker!

I will share more on here Friday about why I decided to switch to Beautycounter. However, I wanted to go ahead and share this news on here right now, because Beautycounter is currently having their Friends & Family Sale. This means that everything site-wide is 15% off, and sales like this don’t happen often. So if you’ve been even remotely interested in trying Beautycounter, now is a great opportunity.
