Hey Y’all!
I’m Liz, and I’m so glad you’re here! Are you overwhelmed by all the noise online? Well, I’ve created a space right here to encourage you to embrace the simple joys in life and inspire you to be your most authentic self.
Palmettos & Pineapples is a Southern lifestyle blog where you will find preppy style inspiration, clean beauty products, faith, travel, Disney, and more. Since I value vulnerability and transparency, and I’m also not afraid to go beneath the surface and talk about the hard things in life, particularly my mental health struggles and singleness. My desire is for others going through similar issues to know they aren’t alone. It’s a privilege to share how God has worked in my life even through the hard things.
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you stay awhile! I’m here to be a girlfriend on the journey, and the big sister I never had. Feel free to contact me at any time!
Why “Palmettos & Pineapples”
I’m a young professional living in North Carolina. I’ve got strong ties to the great state of South Carolina as well, hence the “Palmettos” portion of this blog title. I spent my college years, plus my first few years of “adulting” in the Palmetto State, so it has played a significant role in shaping who I am today and holds a special place in my heart. I love the sight of the palmetto tree & crescent moon, and Clemson Orange tiger paws! (The color garnet and Gamecocks…not so much!)
I’ve lived in the South my entire life, and honestly couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. The “Pineapples” portion of this blog title is a nod to my love of Southern culture. The pineapple is a symbol of Southern hospitality, and one of my favorite things about the South is how warm and friendly people are. Also, the pineapple fountain is one of my favorite spots in Charleston, SC, which is the epitome of a Southern city.
Things That Bring Me Joy
I love Jesus, and the joy found through a personal relationship with Him is the greatest joy of all. Other things that bring me joy include: college sports (particularly all things Clemson and UNC), Disney, preppy style , snagging as many photo opps with characters and mascots as I can, theme parks and roller coasters, spending time by the pool or at the beach, reading a good book, ice cream and fro yo, coffee, quality time with my favorite people, traveling to my favorite places (Disney World, Clemson, and the beach) and discovering new places, eating disorders awareness and prevention, eliminating the stigma of mental health issues, and so much more.
