Hey there- hope y’all had a great weekend. I’ve really enjoyed sharing some more lifestyle and advice. content with y’all lately. But today I’m back with another fashion post! Since it’s officially Valentine’s Day week now, I want to share some inspiration for styling a classic pink shirt three ways. You can break out all your festive pink outfits this week regardless of your relationship status. In fact, wearing lots of pink is actually one thing I recommend to make the most of Valentine’s Day even even if you’re single. (You can read more here). Well let’s be honest- I don’t actually need an excuse to wear pink. I mean, it is my signature color (with a little bit of Clemson orange mixed in, of course). But Valentine’s week does make pink extra appropriate.

My Favorite Classic Pink Top

A basic cotton candy pink long-sleeved v-neck tee by Lauren James is the cornerstone of all three looks I am about to show y’all. I ordered this top during the recent Lauren James sale, because I really liked the fit and feel of my basic white long-sleeved Lauren James shirts. And although my wardrobe wasn’t lacking pink, I actually didn’t have a basic light pink top. So this was definitely a welcome addition to my closet. My favorite thing about basic long-sleeved tops is the styling versatility they offer, and this pink one is no exception!

Look One: Printed Lilly Pulitzer Infinity Scarf

Y’all may remember my Lilly Pulitzer infinity scarf in the Hangin’ with My Boo panda print from one of my December outfit posts, and my December 2018 favorites post. I’m still loving and wearing this scarf just as much in the new year! Throwing on a fun printed scarf like this really takes a basic solid long-sleeved top up a notch! The pink in this scarf isn’t an exact match for the top, but I still feel like these shades of pink complement each other. And I simply can’t get enough of this adorable panda print!

You can also see that I layered my Lilly infinity scarf with my ban.do “Resilience” necklace featured in my January 2019 favorites post. This necklace is part of a collection that aims to eliminate the stigma of mental illness, which is a cause I can totally get behind!

Look Two: Lauren James Ivory Puffer Vest

For this second look, I swapped the printed scarf for a neutral puffer vest, my new Lauren James Camden vest. This was another purchase from one of her huge January sales. The neutral ivory color with tan corduroy accents will go with just about any of my winter tops or dresses. While this vest does provide an extra layer of warmth on a slightly brisk day (or inside cold offices), it doesn’t have the warmth of down or prima-loft insulation. Nevertheless, it’s a great addition to my winter wardrobe. And it will also be great for next fall as well.

PS. Check out the details on these pockets. In addition to the standard slit pockets, there’s also snap pockets underneath the corduroy flaps.

Look Three: Lauren James Cozy Cardigan

For this final look, I took off the vest and replaced it with my Lauren James Lenon Cardigan, the cozy sherpa-lined cardigan you may remember from my January 2019 favorites. The day we took these photos, it was a mild sunny winter day, with highs in the upper 50s. However, by the time we got to these photos with the Sherpa cardigan, the sun was starting to set and it was getting really chilly. So I was glad for an extra bit of warmth during the tail end of this shoot! As you can see, the Lauren James Lenon cardigan has the look of slouchy cardigan, but it’s a lot thicker and lined with Sherpa! I like how the Sherpa lining turns outwards so that it’s revealed along the edges. And there’s pockets too! Always a plus. Lauren James describes this cardigan as a “socially acceptable bathrobe” and they’re basically right.

I hope that y’all enjoyed this post and got some inspiration on styling a classic pink shirt. Honestly, these three looks I shared are only a fraction of the outfit possibilities with this top. I also love this basic pink top because I can wear it now, but it will also transition nicely into spring. Also, shoutout to Reveling Spaces Photography for all the pictures in this post!
