Thankful Thursday

Hey y’all and happy thankful Thursday. Hope y’all have had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family & friends! I just wanted to pop in and share a few things I’m thankful for this year, and some of my favorite Thanksgiving memories.

Gratitude Changes Everything

This side of eternity, nothing will be perfect. However, even in a fallen world, there’s always something to be thankful for. I have found that gratitude is such a game-changer, and I feel so much better when I focus on the great things in my life, rather than things that are less than ideal. Although today is a day devoted to giving thanks, gratitude is always a good idea 365 days a year!

I’m Thankful For…

This list is by no means exhaustive, but here’s a handful of things I’m thankful for this year:

-A God who loves me unconditionally despite my flaws and shortcomings, and even when I doubt His faithfulness

-My Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) group and the amazing new friends I’ve made through it this fall

-The privilege of living in a country where I have the freedom to go to church and worship God without persecution

-A therapist who is supportive and understanding, whose office is a safe place I can process life’s challenges and victories with each week

-A loyal best friend who I can always be myself with

-Family

-Fun and supportive Co-workers

-Clear mammogram and breast MRI

-Great health insurance that covered most of my breast MRI and that makes my counseling sessions extremely affordable

-My cozy apartment

-My blog-the creative outlet and platform it gives me, and the friendships I’ve made through it

-A mentor who shows me grace, always points me back to Christ, and is an amazing friend

-Clemson football and the opportunity to attend a couple games in Death Valley this fall

-Coffee

-Ice Cream

-Plenty of clothes that meet my needs and express my personal style

-Long healthy hair

-Family beach house that made it through Hurricane Florence

-Hallmark movies

-Binge watching 7th Heaven on Hulu

Thankful for Y’all

As I mentioned earlier, the above list is by no means exhaustive! But I want to give a special thank you to all y’all who have supported my blog over the past nine months-to those of y’all who read and comment on my blog posts, and who follow and engage on Instagram. Special thanks to those of y’all who have given me such sweet feedback on my blog, and encouraging comments on the days that have been rough. Y’all are amazing!

Thanksgiving Memories

Thought I would end this post by sharing a couple random Thanksgiving memories. Every once in awhile, my family will gets me of these turkey cupcake cakes on Thanksgiving. They actually come from the Walmart bakery, but are so delicious! I wish we had one again this year, but for now I’m reminiscing on how delicious it was last year.

Thankful Thursday

Another one of my favorite Thanksgiving memories is spending Thanksgiving night at my grandparents house with my cousin. We would watch Home Alone on TV, and then the next day we would make our Christmas lists entirely of stuff from the American Girl catalog. Good times!

Although the days of shopping from the American Girl catalog are long past, there’s still lots of Christmas list-making and shopping to do this weekend. I already have some Black Friday sale info up on the blog, and will be adding more sales tomorrow.

Hope y’all have had a blessed day!

-xoxo Liz
